Swim Module

Part one of our swim test is over - the endurance part of it. I still have difficulties in my front crawl. It's my breathing and rhythm i feel. And of cos..I procrastinate often to practise.

I completed 250m with the timing of 6:59. It was an improvement of 1 minute plus from the pre-assessment. But of cos, it is still just a completion and worth 5 out of 20 points. Hopefully I will still improve in the timing in the near future, especially try to improve on my strokes for front crawl. Think it's a bit too late to work on my strokes now, especially when the strokes test is in 2 days time.

I was really glad to have learn how to do plunge and the various turnings. And I've also learnt the proper front crawl and backstroke. But unfortunately, my butterfly is still in "cmi" state. But overall, I felt that i've learnt a lot from my lessons. =)

Change. Change

Yesterday during our water session, we have been asked to wear the wrist weights to train. Cos the weights din wrap nicely ard my small wrist, they were like rubbing agst my wrist instead. But when i tie it ard my forearm..woohoo..can totally feel the lactic acid buildup halfway thru the distance. I was also not able to lift up too much of the cycle.

Having the wrist weight forces us to drop our rowing shoulder/arm into the water, get a proper catch before pulling. I think this will help many who find "dropping" the shoulders a problem =)

I've been rather tired these days. Really looking forward to my end of year trip. Thou it's jus phuket..Im glad dat we'll be getting out of town to get some fresh air. Have just confirmed my hotel bookings for the accomodation at Phuket. Still wondering where else to head to after Phuket..Krabi? Ko Samui?
