my panasonic lumix fx38

after comparing between and the lumix and canon's 870IS , i've decided on the lumix. thou canon is more user-frenly, i found the specs of lumix more appealing. the colour of matte brown also looks more "cool" den the golden canon 870.

Initially i was looking at lumix fx520. I was impressed by its touch-screen while i was researching online. but after handling the camera during Sitex, i found it too bulky to my liking. right beside it was the fx38, with similar specs yet more compact. And there was a wider range of colours. Other den the conventional black and silver, there were brown and pink.

the specs which i liked were the wide angled 25mm leica lens, 5times optical zoom (so i can tk races from afar!) The intelligent auto function was one aspect which i found useful when im taking instant photos. but one of my frens actually commented that sometimes the backgrd might look blurry. I'll have to tk some time to learn the manual functions and to use the different scenes. for lumix, i was not able to preview the scenes unlike canon 870 which enables the user to preview the image when the specific scene is applied.

oh and the freebies that came along with it! really a lot!! 2 8GB SD cards+1 4GB SD Card+ 1 screen protector+ tripod (the really mini one)+ cleaning kit + extra batt+ camera pouch.

after spending q a bit on my camera, i'll have to put off my plans to get a new laptop. perhaps the next IT fair..and i'll most likely get an asus 13.3" laptop which has dedicated ram and this 8 second start up function which enables user to start the laptop at the specific function which we want eg internet/music etc.

Regatta 2008

It's gonna be my 8th Regatta finals tmr! It'll be womens' open, followed by the womens and mixed category in the public service.

I still remembered my first Regatta in 2001. That was when I was still a very fresh and of cos..young rower =)

I still remembered it was Shihui sitting beside me and we were seated in a super awkward position. We had our inner leg placed on the seat in front of us. Then I'll tell the rower in front of me to juz sit on my foot. haa then my other leg will eventually be kicking agst shihui's as we went down the race course. Our coxswain was our super senior (was supposed to be mr nasiman. but he had a back-to back race, so he cldnt come to us in time.) And we charged too early! (haha i remembered it was at the sir stamford raffles statue) so of cos..we died out *panting* dat was my very first regatta race!

now.i cant remember how many have i gone down. But i alwaz remembered being replaced during Regatta but of cos, im ok with it cos I believe in my team mates.

Regatta has alwaz been deemed as a heng-suay race. cos of the lanes and the water condition. this year, it has been talked bout again. wonder what it will be like for tmr. but i felt that the outer lanes had an advantage, cos we dun have to be caught in the backwash. *pray hard*

And i forgot to bring my camera dis morning!! muz remember to bring it down tmr!

2 more days to the Exams

It's saturday! 2 more days to my first and only paper for this sem, before i begin working on my chemistry assignment.

Tired from studying, I went downstairs to buy today's papers. Gosh! it's $1.00 already! It wasnt not too long ago when i paid 90cents for Saturday's Straits Times. And it's $1.00 now.

Amongst all the handphone and furnishings adverts, there was this one on the opening of Singapore's "first agri-tainment center"- D'Kranji Farm Resort. (www.dkranji.com.sg) The site looks not bad, showcasing the many facilities of the Farm Resort. And like many of the ulu attractions in Singapore, they provide shuttle buses from Kranji and Yew Tee MRT station. Think i'll make a visit to the place after next week, when all the assignments and exams clears.

ok, enough of rattling =) time to work on "mo-ti-va-ti-on" before i make my way to trg!
